Aerolíneas Argentinas Announces Direct Flights from Argentina to Aruba Starting January 2026

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) announces that Aerolíneas Argentinas will introduce a seasonal service between Argentina and Aruba starting January 2026.

The operation will run for a two-month period, representing a strategic step in enhancing Aruba’s connectivity with South America, particularly Argentina’s key markets.

The carrier will operate five weekly frequencies utilizing the Boeing 737 MAX 8 with a 170-seat capacity, representing a total of 43 flights and more than 7,000 seats during the season.

Route Structure (January – February 2026)

  • Buenos Aires (EZE): 3x weekly nonstop to Aruba, return via Cordoba (COR)
  • Buenos Aires (AEP) via Cordoba (COR): 1 weekly
  • Buenos Aires (AEP) via Mendoza (MDZ): 1 weekly

Strong Market Potential

According to O&D traffic data from January–May 2025, Argentina represents Aruba’s second-largest South American market with 14.5% of total regional traffic. This positions it just behind Colombia (32.1%), which already benefits from direct flights with Avianca and Wingo to Bogota and Medellin. Argentina ranks ahead of Peru (10.8%), currently connected by LATAM with 5x weekly service, and Panama (10.6%), served by Copa Airlines with 14x weekly flights. The addition of Aerolíneas Argentinas directly addresses this demand, making Argentina the largest unserved South American market now connected to Aruba.

This development reinforces Aruba Airport’s commitment to diversifying its route network and expanding access within South America,” said Jo-Anne Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive at Aruba Airport. “Connecting to Argentina aligns with our strategy to strengthen ties in the Latin American region, opening new opportunities for growth, partnerships, and long-term market development.”

With this new addition, Aruba now offers direct connectivity to four key South American markets: Colombia, Peru, Brazil, and Argentina—further strengthening the island’s regional presence and air service portfolio.

"This new direct flight of Aerolineas Argentinas from Buenos Aires, Cordoba y Mendoza to Aruba, starting in January 2026, is an extraordinary opportunity to bring Argentinean travelers even closer to our One Happy Island. It also reaffirms our commitment to strengthening the diversification strategy beyond our primary North American market.

Argentinean visitors are amongst those staying the longest on the island, with an average of nine days, directly contributing to our high-value guest attraction strategy. We are confident that this new route will enhance connectivity and further position Aruba as a preferred Caribbean destination. We trust that every Argentinean guest will discover the Aruba Effect and be delighted by our different experiences that will make them want to return”, according to Ronella Croes, CEO of Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.).

"We are proud to welcome Aerolíneas Argentinas to our island. This new service connects Aruba directly with Argentina, creating new bridges for travelers and opening doors for stronger tourism, business, and cultural relations. We look forward to sharing Aruba’s unique hospitality with our friends from Argentina," says Wendrick Cicilia, Minister of Tourism.
