Aruba Airport Reports Steady October Growth and Positive Winter Outlook

Aruba Airport recorded continued growth in October 2025, reflecting solid travel demand across key markets and a strengthening outlook ahead of the winter season.

The airport handled 120,046 revenue generating passengers (RGP) during the month, a 5.5% year-over-year increase. Seat capacity increased to 145,587 seats (+1.5%), while aircraft movements reached 1,076 departures (+2%). The average load factor for October increased by 1.6 percentage points year-over-year, reaching 87.8%.

From January through October 2025, Aruba Airport welcomed 1,372,382 RGP, representing a 4.4% year-to-date increase. Seat capacity reached 1,657,156 seats (+0.9%), with 11,822 flight departures (+3.2%) recorded over the period. The average year-to-date load factor remained strong at 87.4%, marking a 1.1-point increase compared to 2024.

Market Trends

The U.S. market maintained its position as Aruba’s largest source market during the January – October period (69% market share), recording 0.8% RGP growth despite a slight decline in overall seat capacity (-0.4%).

The Canadian market continued its strong performance, with 12.7% growth in RGP and an 11.3% increase in seat capacity, reflecting sustained demand and expanded service offerings.

Latin America recorded one of the strongest performance year-to-date, with 19.7% RGP growth supported by a 14.8% increase in seat capacity, driven by enhanced connectivity and new route additions.

The Dutch Caribbean and Caribbean markets also delivered solid results, recording 11.9% growth in RGP and a 1.8% increase in seat capacity.

Europe recorded a 1.8% decline in RGP and a 19.5% reduction in seat capacity versus the same period in 2024, driven largely by British Airways’ suspension of its London Gatwick (LGW)–Aruba service in March 2025.

 Winter 2025-2025 Outlook

The 2025/2026 winter season is projected to generate additional growth, with Aruba Airport forecasting an 8% increase in overall seat capacity.

In the U.S. market, capacity is expected to grow by 8.3%, supported by several airline developments:

  •  American Airlines launching daily service from Chicago (ORD)
  • United Airlines expanding to daily Washington (IAD) service and adding five weekly Chicago (ORD) flights
  • JetBlue introducing a three-times-weekly Fort Lauderdale (FLL) route while increasing frequencies to Boston (BOS) and New York (JFK).

U.S. capacity is forecasted to grow 1.2% by the end of 2025.

In Canada, seat capacity is expected to grow by 8.4%, driven primarily by WestJet’s expansion to 10 weekly flights. Capacity for the market is projected to grow 13.6% by year-end 2025.

Latin America is expected to experience the strongest seasonal increase, with a projected 22% growth in seat capacity. Growth will be led by:

  • LATAM’s new 3x weekly Bogota (BOG) service
  • Copa Airlines’ expansion from 10 to 14 weekly flights
  • Aerolíneas Argentinas introducing five weekly flights across EZE, COR, and MDZ

The region is forecasted to finish 2025 with 14.6% growth in seat capacity.

In Europe, seat capacity is projected to decrease by 13.1% this winter, primarily due to British Airways’ suspension of the LGW–AUA route. KLM will partially offset this with two additional Amsterdam (AMS) frequencies added to its daily schedule. Europe’s seat capacity is expected to decline 19.3% by the end of 2025.

The Dutch Caribbean & Caribbean region is forecasted to see a 6.8% reduction in winter capacity, following Sky High’s discontinuation of service from Santo Domingo (SDQ).
