Jet2.com has expanded its Winter 2027/28 Ski programme from Birmingham Airport (BHX), placing more than 56,000 seats on sale and reinforcing the airport's position as one of the UK's most attractive growth gateways for airlines.
The UK's leading leisure airline will operate services from Birmingham Airport (BHX) to six of Europe's most popular ski gateways next winter: Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Turin.
The expanded programme, which will operate from mid-December 2027 throughout the winter season, comes in response to sustained demand for ski travel from Birmingham Airport's extensive catchment area.
The announcement highlights the strength of demand across the airport's catchment and demonstrates how airlines can grow successfully from the UK's most strategically positioned and capacity-ready airport.
Located at the heart of England, BHX serves a catchment of more than nine million people within one hour and benefits from strong year-round demand across leisure, visiting friends and relatives (VFR), and business travel markets. This diversified demand profile provides airline partners with the confidence to expand operations and introduce additional capacity.
The programme expansion is the latest example of airline growth at the airport, where carriers continue to benefit from available runway and terminal capacity, operational resilience and opportunities to expand without the constraints increasingly experienced at congested airports elsewhere in the UK.
As Birmingham Airport continues to invest in future growth through its £300 million transformation programme, announcements such as this reinforce the airport's ability to support airline expansion and meet increasing passenger demand across both established and emerging markets.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We enjoyed another successful ski season last winter, and with skiers and snowboarders already looking ahead to Winter 27/28, we have responded by launching our ski programme for next winter from Birmingham Airport. With perfectly timed flights at the most popular times and a range of airports to fly into, we are certain next year’s ski programme will be our best yet.”
Matt Hazelwood, Chief Commercial Officer at Birmingham Airport, said: “It’s great to see Jet2.com responding to the needs of our customers by launching their biggest ever ski programme from Birmingham Airport. We’re confident this expansion will be hugely popular with snow‑sport lovers across the Midlands who want to escape to some of Europe’s best slopes for the 2027/28 winter season, flying directly from their local airport.”
