SAS continues to expand at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Visby Airport

SAS continues to expand at Swedavia's airports in Sweden. Both Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Visby Airport will get new direct routes ahead of summer 2026.

There is a continued strong demand for traffic to and from Sweden, something SAS is considering when they launch new routes ahead of summer of 2026. Starting on March 29th, SAS will operate a direct route between Stockholm and Madrid twice a week, and on June 22nd traffic will start between Visby and Copenhagen.

– SAS’s investment in additional direct routes from both Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Visby Airport is a clear sign of the continued high demand for international travel and shows a strong faith in the Swedish aviation market, says Elizabeth Axtelius, Director Aviation Business at Swedavia. Swedavia's primary goal is to enable people to meet, whether for business, leisure or to visit family and friends, and SAS plays an important role in this.

- SAS is pleased to continue the development of our Swedish route network. With more departures and new destinations next summer, we can offer travelers even better opportunities to travel to, from and within Sweden, says Alexandra Lindgren Kaoukji, Head of Communications at SAS.

Starting on March 29th, 2026, SAS will operate Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Madrid (MAD) twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.

Starting on June 22nd, 2026, SAS will operate Visby Airport (VBY) – Copenhagen (CPH) three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays.
