Scheduled flights to Marsa Alam and charter flights to Marsa Matruh, Egypt starting from March

M. R. Štefánik Airport will add another direct flight to the hot holiday destination of Marsa Alam, Egypt. With the air service to Hurghada, this will be another connection within the popular holiday destinations in this country. The service will be operated by Air Cairo. Marsa Alam will be served 2 times a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The service will be launched on 28 March 2023. The flights will be operated with Airbus A320-214 aircraft (176 seats) and the modern Airbus A320 NEO aircraft (179 seats). Air Cairo also continues to operate the all-year scheduled service to Hurghada.

Egypt's Air Cairo plans to continuously expand to other destinations: "Air Cairo currently flies to more than 40 cities around the world and part of our strategy is to continuously expand our offering."

"We consider Egypt to be a traditional holiday destination that continues to be one of the most popular. We believe that Red Sea lovers and diving enthusiasts will welcome the direct line to Marsa Alam, which will complement the existing line to Hurghada," adds Chairman of the Board and CEO of M. R. Štefánik Airport, Mr Dušan Keketi.

The resort of Marsa Alam lies approximately 250 km south of Hurghada at the point where the Arabian Desert meets the Red Sea. The resort is ideal for windsurfing or diving enthusiasts. The coral reefs in this area offer a rich underwater life. Those who want to watch dolphins should visit, for example, the Shaab Samadai Lagoon (Dolphin House) or the Sataya Reef. The flight to Marsa Alam takes approximately four and a half hours. Tickets can be purchased on the website: Air Cairo.

In addition to this scheduled service, there will also be regular charter flights to Marsa Matruh. The service will start in June 2023. The resort is located about 240 km from Alexandria and is often referred to as the Egyptian Caribbean because of its turquoise beaches and white sand. With Air Cairo you can get to Marsa Matruh comfortably from Bratislava in less than 3 hours.

On this occasion, the airport in Bratislava together with Air Cairo launched a competition for 2 tickets to Marsa Alam. The competition takes place on the official Facebook and Instagram page of the Bratislava airport: Letisko Bratislava / Airport Bratislava | Facebook and Bratislava Airport (@bratislavaairport_official) • Photos and videos on Instagram. The competition lasts from March 31 to April 13, 2023.
