Bratislava Airport Records Its Busiest Month of 2026, Handling Nearly 626,000 Passengers

“August was the busiest month in the entire history of Bratislava Airport, as well as the peak month of this year’s summer season and 2026 as a whole. We handled nearly 626,000 passengers in a single month, averaging more than 20,000 passengers per day. This is an exceptional result that further underlines the airport’s record growth and what is shaping up to be the strongest year in our history,” said Dušan Novota, CEO of Bratislava Airport.

 Aircraft movements also reached a record high in August, with 4,736 arrivals and departures, up 34% compared with August last year. From January to the end of August, the airport recorded a total of 28,230 aircraft movements, representing a 42% year-on-year increase.

 “Antalya, one of Türkiye’s most popular holiday destinations, was the most popular destination from Bratislava in August, followed by the scheduled destinations of Barcelona, Rome, London and Košice,” added Dušan Novota.

Passenger traffic at Bratislava Airport has already passed the historic three-million mark this year. By the end of August, the airport had handled a total of 3,194,274 passengers, an increase of 101% year on year.

 For the first time in its 75-year history, Bratislava Airport has handled more than three million passengers in a single calendar year. The milestone was reached as early as August, with annual passenger traffic expected to exceed four million by the end of 2026.
