NUE outperforming the German recovery average in S22

NUEs recovery performance vs. german market average

With up to 70 nonstop destinations, the flight offer this year is bigger than ever before. No wonder we actually had some weeks where numbers have been up to 15% more pax ttl. than before COVID. August 2022 has in total shown 100% of the passenger volume from August 2019.

The reasons for this outstanding development are increased frequencies or new destinations of existing airline partners and the confidence of the airlines that have joined this year (e.g. Air Serbia and British Airways).

Nuremberg's development is excellent, even looking at the German average. Comparing 2019 vs 2022, NUE outperforms the German recovery average pretty much every week of the summer.

We are pleased to have many destinations like Athens, Faro and Belgrade again and to connect the metropolitan region with destinations like Dublin, Heathrow, Tallinn and Tirana for the first time.

Of course, NUE's incentive programme plays a big role in this development. Once again this year, the number of incentives on offer is expanding. Right now, NUE is evaluating a very special incentive for connectivity between our twin cities in S23, which offers massive discounts for taking a route to one of our twin cities. This incentive could include connections to Brașov, Glasgow, Kavala, Nice and more.

Further information on this topic will follow in October.
