4.5 million air passengers in 2025
Nuremberg Airport reached a significant milestone at the end of 2025: For the first time in its 70-year history, it welcomed 4.5 million passengers.
This surpasses the previous record from 2018 and sends a strong signal of growth for the entire metropolitan region.
Anniversary passengers welcomed on December 31st
The 4.5 millionth passenger of the year was welcomed on December 31, 2025, at check-in for Corendon flight XR563 to Gran Canaria . Petra Beer and Waldemar Strzelczyk from near Erlangen were surprised as the milestone passengers and received a voucher for 4.5 years of free access to the Dürer Lounge . They will be spending New Year's Eve on the Canary Island.
Corendon Airlines expands its presence at Nuremberg Airport
The fact that the milestone passenger was traveling on a Corendon Airlines flight underscores the airline's growing importance at the airport. Corendon has been regularly connecting Nuremberg with popular holiday destinations since 2005 and has operated its own base at the airport since 2019. Due to strong demand, the airline will station a second aircraft in Nuremberg from May 2026, thus offering up to 14 direct connections to tourist destinations in the future.
