Madrid Joins Cyprus’ Route Map as Wizz Air Strengthens Presence
Wizz Air continues to expand its presence in Cyprus and further develop its base at Larnaka Airport, with the addition of new routes that respond directly to passenger demand and strengthen the island’s year-round air connectivity.
The introduction of Madrid to the network marks a particularly significant milestone, as one of the most highly anticipated routes for the Cyprus market in recent years. Set to commence in September 2026 with three weekly flights, the new service provides a long-awaited direct connection to a major European capital.
Madrid’s inclusion enhances the breadth of travel options available from Cyprus while also creating new opportunities to attract inbound visitors, supporting the diversification of the island’s tourism offering.
Alongside this development, Wizz Air is also reintroducing daily flights to Athens, a route that remains a key link for both leisure and business travel.
The expansion reflects the ongoing growth of Wizz Air’s operations in Cyprus and highlights the continued development of Larnaka Airport as a strategic base. At the same time, it underscores the broader progress in Cyprus’ air connectivity, with a focus on key European markets and sustainable, year-round growth.
