easyJet launch flights from Newcastle to Reus, Tenerife, Prague and Sharm el-Sheikh
Offering a range of new destinations for easyJet customers to explore from North East England
easyJet has launched four new services between Newcastle Airport and Reus, Tenerife, Prague, and Sharm el-Sheikh this week.
The new routes to Reus and Tenerife took off on Saturday August 1 and will continue to operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Reus, the birthplace of Gaudi and a gateway to the beautiful Costa Dorada, is proving popular amongst travellers looking for an exciting city break.
Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, offers stunning beaches and breathtakingly diverse landscapes – with options for every customer, whether they’re looking for a relaxed weekend away or an adventure.
Flights to Prague took off on Sunday 2 August and will now operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays, perfect for a long weekend in one of Europe’s most historic capital cities.
Flights to Sharm el-Sheikh took off on Monday 3 August and will now operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, offering travellers easy access to one of Egypt’s premier resort destinations, right on the Red Sea.
Leon McQuaid, Director of Aviation Development at Newcastle Airport, said: “The launch of easyJet’s new routes to Prague, Reus, Sharm El Sheikh and Tenerife marks another significant milestone in the airline’s continued growth at Newcastle Airport following the opening of its new base in March.
“In just a few months, easyJet has more than quadrupled its network with flights and package holidays now on sale to 31 destinations, giving passengers even more choice to enjoy popular sunshine getaways and cultural city breaks.
“This investment reflects the strong demand for connectivity from the North East and comes at a hugely exciting time for the Airport. We are on track for a record-breaking summer, with more than 1.4 million passengers expected through our terminal.”
