American Airlines announces new non-stop service to Curaçao from the United States of America

Curaçao Airport Partners NV (CAP) has received confirmation from American Airlines that as of Saturday, December 19, 2015, American Airlines will commence weekly service from Charlotte, North Carolina to Curaçao International Airport, Curaçao. American will be utilizing an Airbus 319 aircraft with 128 seats. Charlotte is American Airlines’ major hub city in the Middle Atlantic region of the United States, and this new weekly flight will offer passengers an additional airport gateway from which they can travel to and from Curaçao. The new service will also facilitate connecting travel to and from Curaçao and other major cities such as Atlanta, Washington DC, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other major US cities through this convenient hub.

"We are extremely pleased with the announcement made today by American Airlines, one of our valued airline partners", said Ralph Blanchard, CEO CAP.  "This new service complements our existing route network, will specifically strengthen Curaçao’s “brand” presence in the potent Middle Atlantic Region of the U.S., and will also enhance connectivity from other parts of the US via the powerful Charlotte Hub.  The new service is also consistent with the new Curaçao Tourism Master Plan that seeks to focus on increasing US and North American travel to Curaçao.  CAP is pleased to be a part of the effort to continuously improve and expand air service to Curaçao, and looks forward to working together with our strategic partners CTB and CHATA to make this new service successful for American Airlines and for Curaçao.  We look forward to more great announcements such as this in the months and years ahead".
