Malmö is an exciting city with the focus on cultural offerings and innovative architecture. Skåne is framed by four seas and miles of sandy beaches and has desolate forests and clear blue lakes, romantic castles and prizewinning gardens. Maybe the best thing about Skåne is its climate. Skateboarding in Malmö
The largest skateboard park in Northern Europe is located in Malmö, in Stapelbäddsparken in the popular area of Western Harbor. The park opened in the summer of 2006 and holds today more than 2000 sqm of indoor and outdoor skateboarding excitement.
The park is well known and attracts skaters from all over the world to its ramps, pools, bowls and stairs. A wide range of tournaments and events, bigger and smaller, have been held here, among them the Quicksilver Bowlriders which gathered some of the world’s best skaters in Malmö. Eurosport reported from the event and if interested you can see parts of the tournament as well as interviews and stories online.
Bryggeriet operates the park and a café belonging to it daily. Bryggeriet states on its website that they will continue to grow and improve the skateboarding facilities in Malmö not only to keep its good reputation but also to continuously attract new tournaments, events and other happenings, maybe another wedding one day?!
