Khanh Hoa Tourism at the start of 2026: A bright kickoff and strong signals for a record-breaking year

A vibrant start to 2026, powered by strong domestic demand and a surge of international arrivals.

Khanh Hoa kicked off 2026 with an unmistakable tourism upswing: visitors from Ho Chi Minh City and nearby provinces arrived in large numbers, while international travelers from South Korea, China, Russia, and beyond also flowed in steadily. At Cam Ranh International Airport, passenger volumes during the 2026 New Year holiday rose by roughly 15% compared with the same period in 2025. From January 1–4, 2026, the airport handled 512 takeoffs and landings (up 4% year over year), including about 321 international flights and 191 domestic flights, welcoming more than 95,000 passengers in total. Beyond air travel, road arrivals were also notably high—pushing hotel and resort occupancy to impressive levels, especially in Nha Trang and Bai Dai, where many properties reported over 90% occupancy from December 31, 2025 through January 4, 2026. The festive atmosphere added extra momentum, with major countdown celebrations on Hon Tre Island and lively dining-and-entertainment scenes along Tran Phu Street.

The strong start extended to Khánh Hòa’s attractions. VinWonders Nha Trang stayed a top choice, while sea-and-island tours surged—about 8,000 guests joined boat trips in the first two days of the holiday (around +15% vs. 2025). In northern Nha Trang, Nha Phu Lagoon, Orchid Island, and Monkey Island also performed strongly with over 2,650 visitors (roughly +30%).

Cultural landmarks were equally busy: Po Nagar Cham Towers welcomed more than 5,200 visitors on January 1 and about 5,500 on January 2. Other sites like Long Son Pagoda, the National Oceanographic Museum, and “old Tet” workshops also saw higher footfall—reinforcing an upbeat outlook for Khánh Hòa tourism in 2026.

Visitors from Russia and the CIS generally saw a sharp increase in 2025, with further growth forecast for 2026.

As the gateway welcoming international travelers to Khánh Hòa, Cam Ranh International Terminal is proud to support the province’s tourism growth. We are committed to safe, seamless operations and continuously improving the passenger experience—helping every journey begin with a smooth arrival and a strong first impression.
