Cyprus Airports Expand Reach in Asia with New Kazakhstan Routes

Air Astana has launched operations in Cyprus for the first time, introducing direct services linking Larnaka Airport with Kazakhstan. The airline will operate flights from both Astana and Almaty twice weekly, bringing total frequency on the Kazakhstan market to four weekly services and opening new opportunities for Cyprus to expand its air connectivity reach.

These new connections significantly enhance Cyprus’ presence in Central Asia by providing direct access to two major Kazakh cities, unlocking a new and growing market for the island. The addition of Astana and Almaty strengthens LCA's network footprint and supports Hermes Airports’ broader strategy to expand connectivity beyond European markets.

The increased capacity and frequency are expected to create new opportunities for inbound tourism, while also supporting the development of business and institutional links between Cyprus and Kazakhstan. Overall, the new routes expand Cyprus’ reach as a tourism destination and contribute to the continued diversification of its air network.
