Wizz Air Grows Operations in Cyprus

Wizz Air is further reinforcing its commitment to the Cyprus market by expanding its operations at Larnaka Airport, with additional services commencing in August and continuing in the winter season. The expansion comes in response to stronger-than-expected passenger demand and will further enhance connectivity between Cyprus and key destinations across Europe.

This early capacity increase reflects growing demand for travel to and from Cyprus and highlights the island’s continued appeal as both an inbound tourism destination and an outbound travel market.

Several routes from Larnaka will benefit from increased frequencies. Among the most notable developments is the launch of the Madrid Service with three weekly, flights following the successful enter into the Spanish market last year with the introduction of Barcelona service. Another notable development is the return of the Larnaka–Athens service. Flights will resume on 13 August 2026 with 10 weekly services, increasing to 14 weekly flights from 23 September 2026.

Additional capacity will also be deployed on a number of popular routes experiencing particularly strong demand. Services between Larnaka and Barcelona will increase from three to four weekly flights from 1 September, while flights to Bucharest Otopeni will rise from five to seven weekly services. The airline is also expanding operations on the Larnaka–Tel Aviv route, increasing frequencies from seven to 11 weekly flights from 13 August. Further enhancements are planned for routes to Kutaisi and Iasi as well.
