Cyprus Airports Maintain Strong Passenger Volumes Despite Regional Challenges
Passenger traffic at Cyprus’ airports remained strong in July 2026, despite ongoing challenges affecting the wider region.
A total of 1,635,055 passengers travelled through Larnaka and Pafos airports during the month, with traffic volumes just 1% below those recorded in July 2025.
Pafos Airport delivered particularly strong results, recording a 7% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic. The growth reflects enhanced connectivity and an expanding range of travel options available to passengers.
The year-to-date performance also indicates a positive trend. During the January-July 2026 period, passenger traffic was 3.7% lower than during the corresponding period in 2025, narrowing the gap recorded earlier in the year and reinforcing confidence for the remainder of 2026.
The leading markets during the January-July 2026 period were the United Kingdom (23%), Greece (17%), Israel (10%), Poland (9%), Germany (5%), Romania (3%), Austria (3%), Armenia (3%), Italy (2%) and Hungary (2%).
It is worth noting that these comparisons are being made against 2025, the strongest year on record for Cyprus airports in terms of passenger traffic.
Despite regional challenges, Cyprus continues to maintain strong air connectivity. A total of 54 airlines currently operate services to and from Larnaka and Pafos airports, connecting Cyprus with 165 destinations across 42 countries.
