Cyprus Airports Rank Among Europe’s Top Performers in Passenger Growth

Cyprus remains one of the top-performing countries in the EU+ aviation market, with August passenger traffic growth more than double the European average of +4.9%, according to the latest monthly report by ACI EUROPE.
This marks the fourth consecutive month that passenger traffic at Cyprus Airports has grown faster than the European average, underscoring the island’s consistent performance and growing role in air connectivity.
Strong Momentum in 2025
Following a period of sustained positive performance, Cyprus’s aviation sector continues to demonstrate strong momentum.
During the first half of 2025, Cyprus’s airports recorded the third-highest passenger growth in Europe, achieving an impressive 11% increase compared to the same period last year. This strong performance further cements Cyprus’s status as a key player in the European aviation sector.
Earlier, in June 2025, the ACI EUROPE Airport Industry Connectivity Report ranked Cyprus first in Europe for the growth rate of direct air connectivity, measured by the number of flights and total destinations served. The year-on-year increase for 2025 reached an impressive 18% compared to 2024.
In the same report, Cyprus achieved top positions overall, ranking second in Europe for growth in direct air connectivity in 2025 compared to 2019, with a 22% increase, and third in Europe for growth in total air connectivity (including both direct and indirect flights), recording an 8% increase over 2019 levels.
