Traffic and transport figures for April 2025

5.8 million passengers flew to, from or via Schiphol in April 2025. It is an increase of almost 6.5% compared to 2024. Most passengers flew to Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. The number of flights to and from Schiphol was 40.363. That is an increase of almost 3% compared to 2024.

Amount of passengers  
In April 2025, 5.3 million passengers flew to, from or via Schiphol. Almost 3.8 million departed from or arrived at Schiphol, and 1.9 million transferred at the airport. There were approximately 989 thousend transfer passengers, who are counted twice in accordance with the international counting method: once as an arriving passenger and once as a departing passenger.  

Most popular destinations  
Almost 4.2 million passengers arrived from or flew to a destination in Europe. 1.6 million passengers arrived from or flew to an intercontinental destination outside Europe. Spain was the most popular destination, followed by the United Kingdom, Italy and the United States.  

Flights  
The number of flights to and from Schiphol was 40.363 in April 2025. This is an increase of 3% compared to 2024. Of these flights, 33.093 went to European destinations and 7.270 to intercontinental destinations. 

Cargo 
The total transported air cargo volume in April was 116.695 tonnes, nearly on par with April 2024. Notably, cargo carried on passenger flights grew by almost 7% year-on-year, reflecting stronger belly capacity utilization. In total, 45% of the cargo was transported on passenger flights and 55% on full freighter flights. The number of full freighter flights was 1.218 in April 2025, almost 2% more than in April 2024 (1.199).
