Aruba Airport nominated for World Routes Marketing Award 2016

Taking place Sept 26th in Chengdu China

Aruba Airport received the exciting news that it has been nominated for the World Routes Marketing Award 2016. "From all airports worldwide that operate less than 4 million passengers a year, Queen Beatrix International Airport has been nominated as best for its marketing efforts. That alone fills us with pride”, said Jo-Anne Arends, Air Service Development Manager. The winner will be announced on September 26th during the 22nd World Route Developments Forum 2016 that will take place in Chengdu, China.
In last February during Routes Americas 2016 held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, they awarded aviation routes throughout the entire American region amongst 750 participating airports, compared to 650 the year before. Aruba was nominated for the 10th time in the Routes Marketing Awards for the Americas region in the category of airports that operate less than 4 million passengers. Aruba Airport won the maximum prize, but this time around will be competing not only in the Americas region, but against all airports around the world!
Jo-Anne Arends: "Our Airline Marketing department works hard to promote our airport, in an effort to attract more airlines with bigger planes; with more seat capacity and with more frequency. Off course there’s a lot of competition in our region, but Aruba can be proud to have such a well-managed airport that can offer so much, on an island where tourists come for leisure". "Besides the strong competition with the other nominated airports, we are convinced that our efforts during 2016 will be recognized by our airline partners”.
In 2015, Aruba Airport handled more than 2.8 million passengers, which entailed a growth of more than 14% in passenger amounts compared to the year before. For this year, Aruba Airport Authority N.V. foresees a continuous growth, both in flight amounts and passenger amounts that will travel through its terminal.
