Aruba Airport congratulates Surinam Airways (SLM) with their inaugural flight to Sanford (SFB), Orlando

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. together with the industry partners and Ministry of Tourism gathered in AAA’s VIP Room to celebrate Surinam Airways’ year round scheduled service to Orlando Sanford International Airport in Florida with flights originating from Paramaribo. The new service launched on 3 April, with flights operating into Sanford on Mondays arriving at 16:30, with the return flight to Aruba departing on Tuesdays at 16:00. The 2,148-kilometre route from Aruba to Sanford is flown on the airline’s 737-300s.

Surinam Airways CEO Mr. R. Lachmising and the rest of the SLM delegation present for the inaugural flight were very excited about this inaugural service and made use of this occasion to meet with local travel agencies to provide more detailed information. Selected travel agents, local and international press received the opportunity to be on board the inaugural flight and experience the SLM service first hand.

AAA CEO Mr. James Fazio also expressed his excitement and shared a toast with everyone present. “More options to and from Florida will ultimately benefit both the US and Aruban market,” said Mr. Fazio.

With this new service Surinam Airways will provide 6,048 additional seats for 2017, and this is more than sufficient reason to congratulate the airline with this inaugural flight.  Congratulations SLM!
