Eight new summer destinations from Brussels Airport

With the publication of the flight schedules for the new summer season, which starts on Sunday 25 March, several new destinations and carriers leap to the eye.

Brussels Airport, 23 March 2012 – With the publication of the flight schedules for the new summer season, which starts on Sunday 25 March, several new destinations and carriers leap to the eye.  

The new summer schedule 2012 includes services to 206 passenger destinations, operated by 73 carriers.

This summer, Brussels Airport registers a new record with 183 long-haul flights a week, i.e. 26 flights a day, including 87 weekly flights to Northern America, 44 to Africa, 31 to Asia; 13 to the Middle East and 8 long-haul leisure flights operated by Jetairfly.

Five new airlines will start operating from Brussels Airport:

- Air One to Venice (daily)

- Air Vallée to Parma (3 flights a week)

- Cyprus Airways to Larnaca (5 flights a week)

- Eastern Airways to Southampton (daily)

- GermanWings to Stuttgart (3 flights a day)

The summer schedule also includes eight entirely new summer destinations:

- Cork (Aer Lingus, 3 flights a week)

- Fez (Jetairfly, 2 flights a week)

- Gazipasa (Tailwind/Thomas Cook, 2 flights a week)

- Larnaca (Cyprus Airways, 5 flights a week)

- Parma (Air Vallée, 3 flights a week)

- Ponta Delgada (Jetairfly, 1 flight a week)

- Ohrid (Jetairfly, 2 flights a week) 

- Skopje (Jetairfly, 2 flights a week) 

Many airlines continue to increase the frequency of their services this summer.

The major new developments are:

Long haul:

- Brussels Airlines with 6 additional weekly flights to Africa, up to 37 a week

- Brussels Airlines with a new daily service to New York

- Hainan Airlines ups the frequency on its Beijing route from 4 to 7 a week

Europe:

- Aeroflot and Brussels Airlines both up to 2 flights a day to Moscow

- Aegean Airlines launches services to Iraklion and Corfu

- After Tirana, Belle Air opens a second route from Brussels: Pristina

- British Airways increases its frequency to London to 7 daily

- easyjet starts to operate a 4 weekly service to Toulouse

- Estonian Air increases its frequency to Tallinn to 2 daily

- Jat Airways doubles its frequency to Belgrade from 3 to 6 weekly

- Turkish Airlines increases its frequency to Istanbul from 3 to 4 daily
