Germanwings starting flights to Brussels Airport

65,000 Passengers expected in 2012

Brussels, May 10th, 2012– The Low Cost Carrier Germanwings is expanding its network to EU-capital Brussels, the largest urban area in Belgium.  “We will start our operations May 20th from Brussels to Stuttgart with eleven flights per week. From June 11th on we operate 16 flights per week. We fly three times per day during the week and one flight on Sunday”, Senior Vice President  Heinz Joachim Schoettes said. Germanwings is expecting to carry 65,000 passengers from Brussels to Stuttgart in the remaining months of 2012. Schoettes added: “In the full year of operation 2013 we expect to transport more than 100,000 passengers.”

The airline also offers smart connect flights from Brussels via Stuttgart to more than ten European cities like Vienna, Palma de Mallorca, Split or Istanbul.

The Cologne based Carrier is operating this summer 2012 to more than 90 destinations around Europe including Israel and Northern Africa. Germanwings has a young fleet of 32 jets type Airbus A 319.
