Fly non-stop to Warsaw from Göteborg Landvetter Airport

On August 28 2017, LOT Polish Airlines launched non-stop service to the Polish capital of Warsaw from Göteborg Landvetter Airport. With a travel time of less than two hours, people in western Sweden will now have access to one of Europe’s fastest growing markets. LOT is the largest carrier in Poland and a member of Star Alliance.

“It is really gratifying that Swedavia can now offer travellers fast, smooth non-stop service to the trendy and exciting city of Warsaw. It is also an important route for business travellers in both Poland and western Sweden,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.

Since 2014/2015, traffic from Gothenburg to Poland has grown by 400 per cent. Poland’s economy is almost as large as Sweden’s with four times as many people. More than 300 Swedish companies have subsidiaries in Poland, including Volvo Trucks, Ericsson, Skanska, SKF, H&M, IKEA, Astra Zeneca, Scania and Getinge. That makes Gothenburg a strategic destination for business traffic to Warsaw. With a travel time of less than two hours, people in western Sweden now have access to one of the fastest growing markets in Europe as well as access to an additional 70 international connections from Warsaw.

“I am proud to be here in Gothenburg to officially launch this new route, which will further strengthen links between our two countries. Naturally, the fact that LOT is now expanding even further is very important for us,” says Wieslaw Tarka, Poland’s ambassador to Sweden.

The direct route will be operated in partnership with the Estonian carrier Nordica. Flights will depart from Göteborg Landvetter Monday-Saturday at 8.00 a.m. and arrive in Warsaw at 9.40 a.m.
