Lufthansa to Launch Frankfurt – San Jose CA Service from late-April 2016

Lufthansa in summer 2016 season is launching a new route to California, as the flight information is loaded in the GDS, ahead of forthcoming announcement. Starting 29APR16, the Star Alliance member will begin Frankfurt – San Jose CA operation 5 times a week, becoming the 2nd European carrier to announce new flight to the Silicon Valley area. However based on current schedule planning, LH will become the First European carrier in summer 2016 to operate San Jose service, one week ahead of British Airways’ planned inauguration.

This route will be operated by LH Mainline 3-class A340-300 (C30E28M221) initially, but will switch to LH Cityline A340-300 (C18E19M261) from 30JUN16. The airport previously planned to hold the press conference for this announcement on Friday 16OCT15, however this has moved forward to mid-day Thursday (15OCT15) Pacific Time, reservation to open soon.

Operational flight number and schedule appeared in GDS Flight information (FLIFO) on Wednesday 14OCT15.
