Strategic synergy: Khanh Hoa elevates Russian-speaking services to welcome the tourism boom
With the robust resurgence of tourists from Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Khanh Hoa is implementing comprehensive solutions to enhance its tourism workforce. Acting as the strategic aviation gateway, Cam Ranh International Terminal (CRTC) proudly operates at the frontline, seamlessly welcoming this massive influx and setting the perfect stage for their extended coastal journeys.
Since early 2025, Khanh Hoa has witnessed a spectacular recovery in the Russian and CIS markets. In just the first five months of 2026, the province welcomed 508,166 Russian visitors—a 4.2-fold increase compared to the previous year—alongside 87,242 CIS tourists. Currently, Cam Ranh International Terminal effectively handles 10 to 12 daily flights from these regions, bringing in 2,000 to 2,500 passengers every day to the coastal city.
These visitors typically enjoy long stays ranging from 9 to 14 days and exhibit high spending habits, showing a strong preference for cultural sites, island tours, mud baths, and eco-tourism. While this dynamic influx brings immense revenue to the local economy, it also creates a pressing demand for Russian-speaking tour guides and customer care personnel. Consequently, many travel agencies are temporarily utilizing English-speaking guides as a stopgap measure to maintain service quality and ensure seamless guest experiences.

To sustain this growth and achieve the milestone of over 1 million Russian tourists in 2026, local authorities and businesses are rapidly deploying practical solutions. Immediate measures include integrating digital technology and automated audio guides at heritage sites, expediting work permits for expats, and organizing specialized training courses. Supported by these synchronized efforts and the optimized operational capacity of CRTC, Khanh Hoa is firmly consolidating its position as a top-tier, sustainable international destination.
