Discovering Lanh Ra Lake: A peaceful oasis amidst the mountains
Beyond the famous blue beaches, Khanh Hoa offers pristine ecological gems waiting to be explored. As the premier aviation gateway, Cam Ranh International Terminal (CRTC) proudly connects travelers to these serene and untouched natural wonders, enriching every journey to the region.
Located about 20km west of the southern provincial center (Phan Rang ward) in Phuoc Hau commune, Lanh Ra Lake offers a completely different atmosphere. In a land traditionally known for its sun and wind, this destination provides a fresh and pleasantly cool environment. On windless days, the calm lake surface acts like a giant mirror reflecting the sky and rolling mountains, creating a poetic and majestic landscape that brings visitors a profound sense of peace and relaxation.

The lake's beauty transforms distinctively with the changing seasons. From September to November, the rainy season fills the lake and turns the surrounding trees vibrant green, while the dry season from January to August reveals wide shores and characteristic yellow grass, offering a pristine charm. A major highlight occurs between May and July when crape myrtle (bằng lăng) forests bloom on the hillsides, covering the space in a gentle purple hue. This purple color, combined with the green forest and deep blue lake, paints a deeply poetic natural picture that is ideal for photography.

Originally, Lanh Ra Lake began construction in 2008 to supply water for daily life and agriculture, as well as to regulate flow and reduce downstream flooding. Today, according to Decision No. 481 (dated February 6, 2026) regarding Khanh Hoa province's tourism development strategy for 2026-2030, the lake area is categorized under Subdivision 12 - New Ecology with the theme "Valley of the Future". Although professional tourism services are not yet fully invested here, it is an increasingly attractive spot for nature lovers who are reminded to practice civilized tourism and protect the local environment.
