My Son Commune: Unlocking eco-cultural and agricultural tourism potential toward 2035
As My Son commune systematically develops community-based Raglai cultural experiences and high-tech agricultural tours to diversify regional tourism offerings, Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company (CRTC) maintains optimized terminal management and streamlined passenger workflows to facilitate seamless international arrivals into the South Central region.
Leveraging its diverse landscape of mountains, forests, lakes, and streams alongside indigenous heritage and agricultural strengths, My Son commune is actively connecting local resources into structured half-day and full-day experiential itineraries. In Raglai villages such as Ra Tren, traditional customs, folk songs, and the sounds of ma la flat gongs and chapi bamboo lutes have been preserved across generations, opening opportunities for visitors to explore indigenous musical instruments, handicrafts, and mountain cuisine. This cultural depth is complemented by historical and scenic landmarks including the ancient Cham Nha Trinh irrigation dam, O Cam dam, Chomo lake, and Phu Thanh communal house—a provincial-level architectural and artistic relic near National Highway 27 that hosts traditional deity processions, ancestor worship, and folk games annually on the 9th and 10th of the third lunar month. Furthermore, adaptive agricultural models in arid conditions provide engaging farm-to-table experiences, notably greenhouse cantaloupe cultivation using drip irrigation at PT Farm, and water-saving organic cultivation of grapes, apples, cantaloupes, and aloe vera at Nang va Gio Farm in Phu Thuan village.

To unify these fragmented assets into a sustainable economic driver, on October 21, the My Son Commune People's Council passed a Resolution on tourism development associated with promoting ethnic cultural identity to 2030, with a vision to 2035. Positioning culture as the foundation and the local community as the core subject, the locality is implementing the "each village one signature tourism product" model while empowering household groups and cooperatives to manage dining, guiding, and local specialty sales without commercializing traditional rituals. Under the detailed roadmap—which estimates a resource demand of approximately 39.85 billion VND for the 2026–2030 period—My Son strives to build one model community tourism site and restore at least one traditional festival by 2027. By 2030, the commune targets at least three signature tourism sites welcoming 7,000 to 10,000 visitors annually, generating 5 to 7 billion VND in annual revenue with around 5% of local households participating in tourism. Looking ahead to 2035, the locality aims to establish at least nine signature tourism products, driving tourism, trade, and services to account for over 32% of its total production value.
