Today marks the official ceremony on the apron of the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport to celebrate airberlin becoming a part of the airline alliance oneworld. In the presence of all CEOs of the oneworld airlines, airberlin was officially accepted as a full member of the oneworld alliance.

In joining the oneworld alliance, airberlin will be able to offer its passengers access to a global network of partners including British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Iberia, Qantas and American Airlines. airberlin's membership extends the global coverage of the oneworld alliance by 70 to 800 destinations in 150 countries; with 9,000 departures per day served by a joint fleet of 2,500 aircraft. airberlin's route network will be covered by oneworld's extensive range of fares and products as of 1 April 2012.
