Worldwide Participation Grows at ATC Global 2012

Senior decision-makers in the air traffic management industry from as far afield as Japan, Brazil and West Africa will join their European and North American counterparts at the 2012 ATC Global Conference (6-7 March, 2012) to answer the critical question “Will today’s ATM programmes meet the challenges of tomorrow?”

“We are delighted that the 2012 event will break new ground in bringing together the global ATM community as never before,” said event director Paula Milburn. “We have also invited experts on areas such as sovereignty, military air traffic management and ATM legal concerns to provide specialist input into the difficult institutional challenges that ATM organisations face around the world in implementing next-generation, trans-national programmes.”

The 2012 conference will focus on the speed and success which ANSPs around the world are having in introducing new ATM concepts such as data-link, ADS-B, 4D-trajectory management, automation and advanced air traffic flow management concepts. The organisers have developed a programme which aims to ensure that all regions of the world are represented, giving attendees a unique view of how new ATM concepts are being introduced throughout the world. The programme will allow also for more interactive sessions between the audience and the speakers.

This is the twenty-second year of the event and is on course to be the most globally representative and significant conference in the event’s history.

“For many ATM stakeholders 2012 will be a pivotal year as new technologies and procedures are implemented for the first time,” said Paula Milburn. “We are now starting to see real connections between the ground and the air which will change the entire architecture of air traffic management.”

For Europe, 2012 will be a particularly important year as the deadline for implementation of functional airspace blocks approaches. Regulators, states, ANSPs and aircraft operators will have the opportunity to assess whether the FAB process and related SESAR work will meet the deadlines for performance improvement, with all sides of the European ATM sector providing speakers to the event.

Conference delegates and speakers will be invited to a prestigious networking dinner on the evening of 6th March 2012 as part of the conference package. This exclusive event will feature a cocktail reception, a 3 course dinner, a special guest speaker and entertainment. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
