Celebrating with a Water Arch the first departure of Emirates from Athens International Airport to New York Newark Liberty International Airport

12th March 2017 Emirates Airlines launched its first flight connecting all year-round Athens to New York Newark, on a daily service with a B777-300ER equipment.

This Emirates service is a significant development for Athens International Airport, for the city of Athens and Greece in general; the ATH-US  market is highly dynamic, underpinned by the vibrant Greek-American community and demonstrates  a demand of more than 700,000 passengers on an annual basis  plus an additional bulk of more than 300,000 passengers from the Balkans' region. 

Having  initiated  a series of actions and meetings  over the last 3 years, for  the reintroduction of this service,  our  determination and firm belief on the success and the potential of the route finally  paid off !!! 

 Emirates daily flight EK209 will depart Dubai at 10:50, arriving in Athens at 14:25 before departing again at 16:40 and arriving into Newark at 22:00 on the same day. Emirates daily flight EK210 will depart Newark at 23:45, arriving in Athens the next day at 15:05, EK210 will depart from Athens at 17:10 and continue onward to Dubai, arriving at 23:50, facilitating convenient connections to more Emirates destinations.

Expectations for Athens - and for Greece in general - are high because the ever-increasing passenger traffic figures (surpassing  the 20 mio pax milestone for the first time ever in 2016) indicate that there is room for more growth in Athens.
