Strongest August ever!
Pax at +13.3%, Flights at +10.4%
During August, the airport’s passengers enjoyed a strong increase of 13.3%, reaching 2.89 million. Both domestic and international travellers achieved growth, at the level of 12.2% and 13.8% respectively.
Overall, during the period January through August 2018, the airport’s passenger traffic reached 16.2 million, achieving double-digit growth (+11.5%), with both domestic and international traffic exceeding the respective 2017 volumes by 5.2% and 14.8% respectively.
Respectively, number of flights during the first eight months of the year amounted to 146,584, demonstrating a healthy rise of 10.4%. Both domestic and international services presented growth by 8.1% and 12% respectively, mainly attributed to the enhanced summer 2018 route network of the airport.
