A traditional and popular market for Athens, both in terms of Foreign arrivals / as well as Greeks travelling to the capital of Austria.
During 2018 Passenger traffic between Athens and Vienna grew by an impressive +10.3% , resulting in 276,000 passengers.
For the first 9 months of 2019, passenger traffic increases further with +7.1% growth.
Due to this increase in demand for travel between Athens and Vienna, Laudamotion and WizzAir, both announced the introduction of services as from this winter season.
In specific .:
Lauda motion will deploy over 56,000 seats in the ATH-VIE-ATH route, operating daily services , with an A320/180Y equipment, as of 27th October 2019.
WizzAir will deploy over 51,500 seats in the ATH-VIE-ATH route, operating daily services , with an A321/230Y equipment, as of 18th December 2019.
In total, Athens will serve 28 weekly frequencies to Vienna, up from 14 in W18/19 season.
