Α November to Remember at Athens International Airport with +2.36mio additional PAX and a + 9.6% growth !
Athens has already built up its NEW RECORD year !!!
November 2025 recorded the 3rd strongest growth in 2025 with a +9.6%, behind January that recorded a +14.5% and March with a +10.8%, highlighting the appeal of Athens in the off-peak months. This latest development resulted from Athens International Airport efforts to smooth out seasonality by increasing passenger traffic in the off-peak months.
International traffic increased its Market Share at Athens, reaching 72% in November 2025, improved from 70% last November.
For the period January – November 2025, Athens is recording a growth of 6.6% to 2024, resulting in 1.96mio additional PAX to the previous record year of 2024. November alone, resulted in 205.5 thousand additional PAX, with 31.6 thousand from the Domestic front and 173.9 from International. Over 90% of the additional PAX in 2025 travelled internationally.
For November 2025, flights increased by 8.2%, with International flights increasing by 11.0% and Domestic by 3.6% when compared to the same month last year.
In the TOP20 International markets in Passenger traffic, Germany climbed to the TOP position, leaving Italy to the 2nd place, when compared to the October 2025 ranking.
Almost all TOP20 International markets grew compared to November 2024, with the strongest growth recorded at Egypt +39.1%, followed by Denmark with a +37.5% and Spain with a +31.5%
The performance of Spain in November was impressive, becoming Athens 6th strongest International market in direct traffic, from the 8th position in November 2024.
In the Long Haul markets, China achieved the highest growth to November 2024 with 25.8%, followed by the US with 5.3% and Canada with 3.1%.
For the period January to November 2025, Athens International Airport reached 31.68mio PAX, almost reaching already the full year 2024 , with just 170 thousand passengers needed, or the traffic equivalent of another 3 days !!!
In other words … Athens has already built up its NEW RECORD year !!!
