Good result and improved customer satisfaction in the third quarter

“Avinor had a satisfactory result in the third quarter. Avinor aims to be a competitive and customer-oriented enterprise. Focus will remain on efficient operations and cost-cutting measures,” says CEO Dag Falk-Petersen.
Avinor’s operating revenue in the third quarter increased by 4.2 per cent to NOK 3,249 million, compared to NOK 3,117 million in the corresponding period of 2017. This is primarily attributable to increased sales and rental income within airport operations, and both traffic growth and income per passenger made positive contributions. Traffic income within airport operations increased by 2.1 per cent. In the third quarter, air navigation services saw a 1.7 per cent reduction in operating income due to lower traffic volumes and reduced prices for en-route navigation services.
An agreement has been reached with the unions to close the occupational pension scheme in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund with effect from 1 January 2019, replacing this with a defined contribution pension scheme.
Improved customer satisfaction
In the third quarter Oslo Airport was ranked the 15th best airport in Europe in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) customer satisfaction survey. This is the highest ranking of all time. With regard to the group’s other airports, there have also been good developments in customer satisfaction in recent years. The ASQ survey is a customer survey among passengers at 111 airports in Europe. Oslo Airport has taken part since 1999.
In the spring of 2019, the Chinese airline Hainan Airlines will open a direct route between the Chinese capital Beijing and Oslo Airport. The new route is the first direct flight between China and Norway.
“A direct flight between Norway and China is important for Norwegian export and tourism. Avinor is pleased that yet another airline is establishing in Oslo and Norway,” Falk-Petersen concludes.
