Preparing for Fast Track

To help enhance your Fast Track experience and make the most out of the sessions, we’ve put together some useful tips.

Identify key targets

1. Identify your key targets

Using the World Routes attendee list, identify representatives from your target carriers to create a shortlist of those you want to meet. Conduct further research into details about the airline’s fleet, their network and the team who will be present during Fast Track.

Prepare questions

2. Prepare your questions

Work out the opportunities and how important they are to you – use your research to formulate two or three key questions for each of your targets.

plan your route

3. Plan your own route

To increase your chances of meeting with all your key targets within the allotted time, map out which airlines you wish to meet using the airline table plan which will be available on the app, displayed throughout the event on screens and also available to print from the Airline Meeting Halls and Diary Advice.

Address book

4. Exchange contact details

Introduce yourself and exchange business cards at the beginning of the session to save time.

keep it brief

5. Keep it brief

Don’t deliver a lengthy presentation, instead summarise with 3-5 key points, preferably with a folder or one-pager that clearly describes your market and opportunity.

stop watch

6. Keep to the time limit

To ensure all delegates get the most out of Fast Track, keep to the five-minute time limit, this way you can move on to meet your next target. The airlines will also be expecting a short 5-minute meeting.

Feedback

7. Gather feedback

Use the session to have quick conversations and receive feedback from your target carriers about your business and establish your next action points.

meeting

8. Set up a meetings

If you wish to continue your conversation beyond the allocated five minutes, arrange a time outside of the sessions to discuss business opportunities further.

Networking over coffee

9. Network

Use the various networking sessions as another opportunity to informally engage with your key targets, build business relationships and cultivate contacts in a more relaxed setting.

Follow up

10. Follow up

Post-event, make time to follow up with airlines you have met on the day via email or a phone call when you return home after the event, but don’t leave it more than a week or two.
