The new centralized security screening points, delivered today:)
Good news for passengers at the Athens airport!
As of today, our new Centralised Security Screening for the whole Intra Schengen area, part of a greater project of aesthetic and functional upgrades in the Main Terminal Building, combined with new services, is fully operational!
Our Intra Schengen project, to be fully completed by end May, follows the recent similar non-Schengen area project at Athens International Airport; it will allow passengers to freely visit new stores (after checks), enjoy the new “Greek corner”, rest at the 2 new squares currently under creation, and access a wide range of new products and services.
The new, centralized security screening point offers as of today:
- 17 screening points
- 9 Units dedicated to Automated Boarding Pass Control
- Aesthetical upgrade
- Operational upgrade as it is creates a “sterile” area for Intra to Intra pax who have no need to be rescreened
- Commercial benefits as it will allow free movement after security checks
