An exciting development with Juneyao Air!
Athens will be directly connected to Shanghai as of June 2020 with Juneyao Air! A spectacular reception at the Hellas House-Shanghai on the 5th of November 2019, with the presence of the Greek Prime Minister, Mr Kyriakos Mitsotakis “sealed” this significant development!
The Athens to Shanghai route will further boost the already impressive growth of the Chinese market at Athens, +161% growth in non-stop traffic and +44.5% in Indirect (2018 vs. 2017). From January to September 2019, non-stop traffic grew by +16.4%.
In 2018 China entered for the 1st time, the TOP20 International markets for Athens and moved up to place 16 in 2019 so far!!
This new route will also offer excellent connections to Far East destinations for Athens via Shanghai and to main European destinations for Shanghai via Athens.
Juneyao Air will serve Athens 3 times weekly with the state of the art Boeing B787-900, offering 324 seats (29 Business and 295 Economy), deploying over 7,800 seats monthly in the Athenian market.
