Athens passenger traffic growth in October 2023 at 19% to 2019, justifying the famous quote: “October is the treasure of the year” !!!
Demand for travel to Athens continues in a very dynamic pace with the airport surpassing 24.4mio PAX, Jan to Oct, resulting in +2.14mio PAX and 9.6% growth to 2019
October was the best month (so far) for Athens in terms of percentage growth with a fantastic increase of +19% to Oct ’19.
During October 2023, the airport’s passenger traffic amounted to 2.74mio, 18.9% higher than October 2019. Domestic and International passengers surpassed the 2019 levels by 22.0% and 17.7% respectively.
Overall, during the first ten months of 2023, the airport’s passenger traffic totalled 24.4mio, above the 2019 levels by 9.6%. Analytically, Domestic and International passengers surpassed the 2019 levels by 12.4% and 8.4%, respectively.
Number of flights during the first ten months of 2023 amounted to 208,834, 6.2% above the 2019 levels. Analytically, both Domestic and International flights were above the 2019 volumes by 9.8% and 3.6%, respectively.
November so far, is moving at a very dynamic level, with high gains in passenger volumes expected.
