Athens spectacular growth continues, with double-digit growth vs 2023 and almost 0.5mio additional PAX already for the first 2 months of the year

Spectacular growth at Athens continues with 3.2mio PAX in the first 2 months of 2024, recording a strong 14.4% growth to 2023 (Athens RECORD year) or +18% to pre-Pandemic 2019.
During February 2024, the airport’s passenger traffic amounted to 1.6 million, i.e. 18.4% above February 2023. Domestic and international passengers surpassed the 2023 levels by 11.8% and 21.5%, respectively.
Overall, during the first two months of 2024, the airport’s passenger traffic totalled 3.2 million, above the 2023 levels by 14.4%.
Analytically, domestic passengers surpassed the 2023 levels by 9% and the international by an impressive 17%.
The number of flights during the first two months of 2024 amounted to 29,415, i.e. 11.8% above the 2023 levels. Both domestic and international flights were above the 2023 volumes by 7.8% and 14.9%, respectively.
ACI also ranks Athens in TOP position, for the Mega airports subcategory with 15% growth in January 2024 vs. same month in 2019.
All regions are the drivers of this growth, demonstrating increases vs NEW Record Year 2023.
