A spectacular July at Athens, with almost 4mio monthly passengers
Year to July passenger traffic reached 19.7mio recording a strong growth of 4.5%, with flights reaching 165.8 thousand with a growth of 3.8% to the first 7 months of 2025
Following a fantastic record year in passenger traffic with 33.99mio PAX in 2025, Athen’s appeal continues strong with traffic increasing even further this year, reaching 19.7mio passengers with a growth of 4.7% to January – July 2025.
Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions and increase in oil prices and therefore cost for travel, July was a very strong month for Athens with passenger traffic increasing by 4.7% to July 2025. Traffic almost reached 4mio passengers, making July 2026 the best month ever for Athens International Airport, even stronger than August 2025.
Growth in traffic for July, was boosted by the International segment with 5.3%, with travel within Greece increasing by 3.4%. Furthermore, transfer traffic via Athens increased by 4% in July, vs.July 2025.

- Poland with 31 thousand
- Germany with 15 thousand
- Italy with 13.2 thousand
- Turkey with 12.4 thousand
- Slovakia with 10.4 thousand, with Slovakia a NEW country market for Athens
- Romania with 9.5 thousand
- Albania with 8.2 thousand
- Hungary with 8.2 thousand
- India with 7.6 thousand, with India a NEW country market for Athens
