The international magazine "Time Out" has chosen the city of Porto in 10th place in its list of the "Best cities in the world"

On 24 January, the online magazine "Time Out" published its annual list for 2024 and placed Porto in an honourable 10th place.

The magazine mentions that "There's a good reason why we chose Porto as this year's best European city break. Portugal's second city is a place where you eat well and drink better. In this wine capital, your glass will never be empty: you can stay in a wine hotel like The Yeatman, The Lodge or Wine & Books; you can drink and snack in elegant wine bars like Genuíno, Certain Café or Tia Tia; you can learn all about wine at the impressive World of Wine (WoW), a kind of wine-themed Disneyland; and you can see where the magic happens on a visit to one of Gaia's cellars - we recommend Sandeman, Cockburn's and Cálem".

Time Out Market Porto will open in 2024 and will be housed in a part of the historic and beautiful São Bento Station, a building of public interest designed by the renowned architect Souto de Moura.

The magazine goes on to say that "With its tiled buildings and view of the Douro, it's no wonder that 98% of locals consider their city beautiful. It's also one of the highest scoring cities for romance, with 82% of locals saying it's easy to find love in Porto.
In this city you'll also find beautiful bookshops, old-school cinemas and rows of colorful tinned fish to take on your next date night. Buy souvenirs in old markets, have fun in the open-air bars and try your first francesinha, if you dare."
