Portugal winner of World and European Best Golf Destination in 2014

Portugal and the Algarve have for a long time been recognised within the golfing industry as well deserved leaders and the award for Best Golf Destination in both World and European categories serves once again to establish Portugal as the place to be for golfing.

The Algarve already boasts the award for World Leading Gold Destination and Europe´s Leading Golf Destination in 2013 by the organisers of this event the World Travel Awards.
The 1st World golf Awards also recognised the new North Course at Quinta do Lago (Algarve) as Europe's Best New Golf Course in 2014. 

The awards ceremony took place in the leading luxury hotel in the Algarve Conrad which ahs already secured the event for 2015.

The World Golf Awards were instituted this year and are integrated in the known World Travel Awards, which have been around since 1993. In order to celebrate and reward excellence in the tourism industry of golf, which the organization says the WGA should be responsible for in 2014 600 million visits to golfers 32 000 camps and resorts that exist in the world, these awards are the result of online poll of industry professionals and to the public.
