Algarve landmark featured on BBC

Silves Castle, one of the most prominent landmarks of Silves and of the Algarve, is to feature in an upcoming episode of the BBC Two series ‘Escape to the Continent’, presented by Nicki Chapman.

Escape to the Continent is an international spin-off of the hugely successful Escape to the Country, the UK’s longest running relocation show.

It follows Brits considering a move abroad, “as they take the opportunity to test drive what an alternative life could look like in a totally new, sunny clime.”
Countries featured on past series include France, Italy, Austria, Spain, Cyprus and Germany, and at least three programmes were shot in Portugal this year, in Lisbon, Central Portugal, and in the Algarve.
Produced for the BBC by Boundless Productions, the footage shot in Silves Castle, which has been classified as a National Monument since 1910, was also supported by Silves Council.
