Transavia France announces new route between Faro and Nantes for summer 2016

Faro airport is delighted to announce this new route and destination, as Transavia France continues to expand its presence in Portugal.

According to the airlines Commercial Deputy General Manager, Hervé Kozar, this is a strategic opening. After Nantes-Madrid last April, the Nantes-Faro line, which will be available for bookings from September 22 and for travel from April 2016, Transavia France will continue its development in the West, with Nantes as its second platform after Paris -Orly.

The route will begin with two flights a week on Monday and Friday, and tickets are on sale from 39 euros.

Passenger traffic up 25% to NantesKozar, also explained that  "Nantes is a key market where we are present since beginning the airline and we now offer 14 destinations from this airport. The Nantes-Faro answers the demand from online tour operators and  customers waiting direct flights  and avoid going through Paris which is a waste of time, especially on weekends destinations ".

Consolidate existing lines

After opening in 2014 20 routes and 10 routes in 2015, the company probably will slow the rate in 2016. "The idea is certainly to continue to open new destinations, but also to consolidate existing routes, including adding frequencies, "says Hervé Kozar.

This network expansion is accompanied by a fleet that has been enriched with 5 Boeing 737 this year to reach 21 aircraft. In 2015, Transavia France expects to carry 4.2 million passengers against 3.2 million in 2014. The passenger profile as it evolves with a stronger presence of the business clientele, which developed thanks to the openings lines to major European cities.
