Colonialen Brasseriet

Simple and stylish, this informal and inclusive café serves a menu of classic dishes featuring Norwegian lobster, mussels, fish and meat inspired by Nordic and continental traditions. Colonialen also offers a varied wine menu and knowledgeable wine stewards.

Bien Basar

A fusion of continental restaurants and the typical food market, Bien serves the best of Western Norwegian ingredients. The menu includes turbot with butter sauce, shellfish, cod, duck confit etc. The wine list is characterised by classic wines in addition to local ciders and beers.

Café Norge

Located on the ground floor of Hotel Norge, this modern Nordic design eatery offers an informal atmosphere and a locally sourced menu created by Bocuse d’Or winner Ørjan Johannesen. The café also takes pride in its own unique coffee, smoothies and exquisite local juices.

Lysverket

Featured in New York Times as "redefining Nordic Cuisine", Lysverket restaurant focuses on local seafood, meat and vegetable dishes. The restaurant offers both a la carte and set menus. Located at the KODE 4 art museum, it is literally only a few steps away from Grieghallen.

Bare

This Michelin star restaurant offers snacks and drinks in the striking mirrored bar while you choose between the half or full menu. Bare makes excellent use of quality organic produce. Avoiding overcrowded plates give the main ingredient, be it langoustine or deer, space to shine.

Valaskjalv

Go Viking on a rustic bench seated by a long table. Surrounded by weaponry, shields and Viking art, this is the genuine Valhalla experience. Authentic Viking Age food, based on historically correct ingredients is served by appropriately costumed staff.

Brekkjarvik Guesthouse

A 50-minute boat ride brings you to idyllic Austervoll island. The charming guesthouse is surrounded by historical buildings in the old Brekkjarvik fishing village. Providing a perfect venue for smaller events, they offer a menu based on fresh local ingredients served in a unique setting.

Apollen Bar

Norway’s oldest independent record store is also a unique café, bar and pub. Forget about tasting your way through the more than 30 beers on tap, or selection of bottled beer. You’re better off enjoying the cool music and light-hearted atmosphere while sipping a Brooklyn IPA.
