Nauru Airlines Launches New Micronesia Island Hopper from mid-June 2015

Update 0930GMT 08JUN15

Nauru Airlines starting this Friday (12JUN15) will launch a new Micronesia Island Hopper, where it’ll operate 1 weekly Nauru – Tarawa – Majuro – Kosrae – Pohnpei route, on board Boeing 737-300 aircraft.

This also marks the return of the airline to Pohnpei since 1980s, when Air Nauru operated a weekly nonstop service.

This new Island Hopper service will end UNITED’s monopoly on this route in recent years. In particular, overall air service to/from Kosrae will receive 3rd weekly flight (UNITED operates 2 weekly each on Kosrae – Pohnpei and Kosrae – Kwajalein sectors), as well as a nonstop link to Majuro. Additionally service will allow same day connection to/from Brisbane and Nadi via Nauru.

This weekly service will also replace existing nonstop Nauru – Majuro service while Majuro – Tarawa sector sees operational day changes.
