Madeira elected Europe's Leading Island Destination again
For the second year in a row, Madeira Islands were elected by the "World Travel Awards” organization as Europe's Leading Island Destination for 2014.
The World Travel Awards take place annually to recognize and award the excellence of the tourism industry worldwide. For the second year in a row, Madeira Islands were elected by the "World Travel Awards” organization as Europe's Leading Island Destination for 2014.
Apart from wining for the second year, the title of "Europe's Leading Island Destination", Madeira is very proud to bring home three other awards:
Choupana Hills, as Europe's Leading Boutique Resort;
The Vine, as Europe's Leading Design Hotel;
and Pestana Porto Santo, as Europe's Leading All inclusive Resort.
Votes followed an evaluation undertaken mostly by tourism professionals and travel agents located in over 200 countries worldwide.
Madeira competed in the category of Europe's Leading Island Destination alongside with tourist destinations such as the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Sardinia, Malta and Cyprus.
