BRUSSELS AIRLINES ARRIVES TO MADEIRA

Brussels Airlines, a Star Alliance member, made the first connection from Brussels to Madeira, this summer.

The first flight was on April 1st, and it will occur, once a week, every Saturday, with an A319, with capacity for 141 passengers.

Madeira is the 4th destination of Brussels Airlines in Portugal. The airline also flies to Lisbon, Porto and Faro.

“Brussels Airlines is very happy to add the beautiful island of Madeira to its fast growing network portfolio”, says Brussels Airlines CEO Bernard Gustin. “We are looking forward to bring many tourists to Madeira and to welcome many Madeirans onboard of our new weekly flight that connects Funchal directly with the European Capital and with many other Brussels Airlines destinations. Brussels Airlines, member of the Lufthansa Group and a Star Alliance member, is the Belgian airline that offers the widest choice of flights to and from the capital of Europe, Brussels Airport, and it will be a new schediule airline operating at Madeira Airport

To celebrate this new operation, and to welcome Brussels Airlines, Madeira Airport welcomes passengers upon arrival of the Inaugural flight offering flowers, Madeira wine and a commemorative cake, followed by a press conference chaired by the Regional Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Culture of Madeira.
