Jet2.com and Jet2holidays Creates New Route Between Britain and Madeira

Jet2.com e Jet2holidays, as announced last October, started its connection to Madeira from London Stansted, adding a new airport to Madeira Airport network.

It is the company's belief that this route, will bring to Madeira a new market that is still unserved.

The Regional Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Culture of Madeira, Mr. Eduardo Jesus added: “This is great news for Madeira, as it represents the reinforcement of connections to a market that is of the greatest importance for our destination and in which we are currently intervening, in order to maintain and increase, this year, the demand.

A strategic market, which we wish, through operations like this, to open space for new opportunities for growth. We are very pleased with this commitment and, at the same time, convinced of its success. "

Flights are available on Mondays, and will have an additional frequency on Fridays, starting on April 28th and according to the airline, the offer of 2 weekly frequencies are maintained throughout all year.

Jet2.com now operates to Madeira from their six UK bases – London Stansted, Manchester, Leeds Bradford, East Midlands, Newcastle and Glasgow.

The flights will operate on Jet2.com brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

To celebrate this new connection, Madeira Airport prepared a reception for the arrival of 189 passengers, with the delivery of flowers and a cake to all the passengers.
