Jiangxi Airlines Launches Nanchang-Kuala Lumpur Route

On August 25, Jiangxi Airlines officially launched its first Southeast Asian international route, the Nanchang–Kuala Lumpur service. Inaugural ceremonies were held simultaneously at Nanchang Changbei International Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The route operates every Monday and Saturday, with outbound flight RY6607 departing Nanchang at 10:00 and arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 15:00, while the return flight RY6608 departs Kuala Lumpur at 16:00 and arrives in Nanchang at 20:50. This new service not only offers more convenient travel options for passengers but also strengthens exchanges and cooperation in trade, tourism, culture, and other fields between Jiangxi and Malaysia.
The inauguration ceremony at Nanchang Changbei International Airport began at 8:30 a.m. with the unveiling of the “Discover Jiangxi” themed aircraft. The event was attended by provincial and municipal leaders, civil aviation authorities, and partner organisations, who came together to celebrate the milestone. Following the ceremony, Jiangxi Airlines’ General Manager, Kang Zhiyang, led the “Nanchang–Kuala Lumpur International Route Inaugural Delegation” on the inaugural flight to Kuala Lumpur. The delegation aimed to extend Jiangxi’s goodwill to the people of Malaysia while promoting the province’s rich tourism resources and the new route’s products.
In Kuala Lumpur, the aircraft landed at 3:00 p.m. to a grand water cannon salute. Passengers were welcomed by representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the Ministry of Transport, and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad. Each traveller received a Malaysia-themed gift, and a celebratory ceremony was held at the airport. Malaysia Airports Managing Director, Dato’ Mohd Izani Ghani, praised the launch as a strategic step in strengthening connectivity with China, noting that direct routes to emerging cities such as Nanchang support KLIA’s role as a preferred Southeast Asian aviation hub. He highlighted that such routes stimulate passenger growth, unlock trade and tourism potential, and deepen bilateral economic ties.
The launch of the Nanchang–Kuala Lumpur route marks Jiangxi Airlines’ active participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and its cultural tourism strategy of “bringing more visitors to Jiangxi.” Moving forward, the airline will continue to embrace its philosophy of “Serving the Public, Enabling Smooth Travel” by enhancing service quality, introducing more tailored products, and creating warmer, more convenient travel experiences. Through these efforts, Jiangxi Airlines aims to further boost air connectivity and elevate exchanges and cooperation between China and Malaysia.
